Our Story
You’d think a petrolhead on the Isle of Man would get into bikes as soon as possible, but Blake was a bit late to the party. Finally jumping on a 125 to do his test in 2016, it took a year on R plates (restricted to 50mph) before jumping onto a Zx6r to make use of the unrestricted speed limits. Together with a GoPro a Youtube channel was born.
Getting on track
No national speed limit and the mountain section. It’s as fun as you think it is - But it’s still a road. Trackdays happened pretty early, and being able to really push ignited a spark. The decision to go racing sprouted and in Easter 2019 Blake got his ACU Licence. Both of which were excellent training for the one way mountains!
New Bikes.
2019 -Moving on from the Frankenkwak (G2 Zx6r with J2 Facelift and A1P 636 Motor) Blake celebrated a new career with a dream bike: a ZX10R. Meanwhile picking up a race ready CBR600F4i.
Crashing out and dodging roads.
A highside for Blake resulted in a colour change for the F4i Honda, with a hand from someone that knew what they were doing Blake learnt how to paint.
By now the thrill of road riding had started to fade. You could never truly give it 100%
Lets get serious.
Half hearted is not the way to race. The TT Mountain course is where we want to be. Blake, now nearly off his orange vest decided he needed something a bit more aggressive. The ZX10R was traded in for an R6 that was ready to race. It was definitely more of a scalpel than the F4i but resulted in a new PB on the first session out. Fantastic.
Although we did borrow the Honda back for the end of season endurance, where we managed a 2nd place in the 600cc class!
ROAD RACING AT LAST.
It wasn’t exactly the plan, but a £200 Facebook purchase CBR400RR that had been buried in the corner of the garage was eligible for the Pre TT Classic. An entry was put in, accepted - so the bike got built.
Not long after and following in the 80’s inspired colours, the R6 raced at the Southern 100.
